…. and they landslide the study as well overtaking trendy strategies such as marketing automation and mobile marketing.

The report complements a recent Forbes study which found that 80% of executives are watching more online video today than they were a year ago and 65% have visited a vendor’s website after watching a video. 65%! Why is your business not doing it?

I’ve spoken before about how customer case study videos are an essential tool in the B2B kit but it looks like since then – the interest in online video as a key tool in the B2B marketing strategy has soared.

B2B businesses are now producing a wide range of video content to help enhance their brand and offering to relevant customers.

1. Customer testimonials (as mentioned!)
2. Product demonstration videos
3. Explainer and tutorial videos
4. Thought leader interviews
5. Project reviews and case studies
6. Live and on-demand webinars
7. Video blogs
8. Event videos
9. Recruitment videos
10. Prospecting

What is responsible for this change? Of course, its the shift in B2B strategies becoming B2P – connecting with prospects on an emotional level rather than pages of copy which could be copy and pasted onto any competitors site. Video allows businesses to show their customers the soul of their businesses.

The best thing as well…. its no longer expensive to produce video! There are tonnes of free tools available on the web or in the app store where all you’ll need is a smartphone to produce something.

Pop by over the coming weeks where I’ll be looking at different types of B2B video in more detail and helping you adapt your strategy to help create some differentiation against your competitors.
